The 139th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 30th April 1947 over the Rowley Mile, was Tudor Minstrel (11/8 fav), a brown colt by Owen Tudor out of Sansonnet, owned by Mr Arthur Dewar. The winner won by an impressive 8 lengths in 1 minute 37.80 secs, with a short head back to the third. A field of 15 runners contested the race which was worth £9000 (Equivalent to £346,500 in 2017)
